Strength Training For The Over 50’s

in Health,Sports

Do you remember when you were younger and you were at the top of your game? You could bench press any weight and not ache the next morning. You could run for hours and not feel tired. You could spend all night out at clubs and all day at the gym. You may have aged a bit but there is no reason why you still can’t feel 100% fit and still feel as energized as you did all those years ago. One way to get your “mojo” back is to try some bodybuilding.

In order to bodybuild correctly, there are a few things that you are going to need first. Many people like to keep a set of weights at home so that they can train anytime without having to go to the gym. You should get a set of weights that will suit your strength. Bodybuilding at 50 years old may require slightly lighter weights so take a look around and see what sort of set would suit you. You may prefer just hand weights or go for bar weights too. If you are on a tight budget then have a look in the classified ads. They are bound to have a bargain there and if not, you can always try online (be sure not to pay for postage though!).

Bodybuilding for women over 40 is particularly beneficial for your health and if done safely, can give you a fantastic body. If you take a look online or in sports stores, you will notice that there are many different types of supports from back supports through to wrist supports. Women who have gone through childbirth or the menopause will have slightly less dense bone strength so should take full advantage of these supports. Bodybuilding is something that everyone can take part in so why not give it a go?
