You know what it’s like if you’ve ever had a bad day. It can go from bad to worse quickly unless you do something to turn it around. It’s important not to let your bad day get out of control.
If you find yourself feeling under pressure, irritable, and wondering how to be happy amongst all the turmoil, you need to take some steps to change your mindset and get positive.
These are just a few tips to put you back on track and find positivity:
1. Talk to someone about it
Your perspective of your day might be skewed because you may not see the whole picture. Talk to a trusted friend or family member and and get their take on your situation. If nothing else, it will be an excellent distraction and allow you to find some clarity of thought.
2. Write it down
Make a list of the things that bother you and see how they fit into your idea of what’s important to you. More than likely you’ll find that the trigger incident is pretty trivial. Move on and do the important things.
3. Take Some Action
Don’t just sit there wallowing in self pity. Do something positive to make your day run better. Take responsibility for your actions and recognize that you have the ability to change the way you think about your situation.
4. Have a shower
I know it sounds silly and possibly out of context, but even symbolically washing away the part of the day you weren’t enjoying will make a difference the way you feel. You’ll be able to start afresh and the cascading water will invigorate you and make you feel alive.
If you feel your day is going south then try one of the four tips above. There are other things you can do such as playing some lively music, or exercising, but the most important thing is that you do something to stop the decline, and start to feel happy.
